About the role

Alcon is seeking a dynamic Head of Sales for its Optical channel in the Iberian market. You will lead a high‑performing sales team, drive growth across national accounts, and champion innovative selling methods to strengthen Alcon’s position in eye‑care.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and service national accounts, securing preferred‑vendor status and managing key relationships.
  • Design and execute customer development strategies, including contract preparation and negotiation.
  • Lead the creation of strategic and tactical sales plans to meet revenue and market‑share targets.
  • Implement digital, remote, and other innovative selling approaches.
  • Analyse market data, competitive intelligence, and retail/wholesale buying trends.
  • Organise customer events and collaborate with marketing/medical teams.
  • Map stakeholders, segment and profile accounts.
  • Coach and train the sales team, overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
  • Communicate marketing insights to the field force and support product presentations and pricing.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets and market‑share objectives.

Required profile

  • Minimum 10 years of sales and marketing experience with proven commercial management success.
  • Background in eye‑care, medical devices, or FMCG.
  • Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
  • Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and business acumen.
  • Native or strong Spanish, fluent English; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Based in Barcelona or Lisbon, field‑based role with frequent travel.
  • Available from August 2024.
