About the role
Alcon is seeking a dynamic Head of Sales for its Optical channel in the Iberian market. You will lead a high‑performing sales team, drive growth across national accounts, and champion innovative selling methods to strengthen Alcon’s position in eye‑care.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and service national accounts, securing preferred‑vendor status and managing key relationships.
- Design and execute customer development strategies, including contract preparation and negotiation.
- Lead the creation of strategic and tactical sales plans to meet revenue and market‑share targets.
- Implement digital, remote, and other innovative selling approaches.
- Analyse market data, competitive intelligence, and retail/wholesale buying trends.
- Organise customer events and collaborate with marketing/medical teams.
- Map stakeholders, segment and profile accounts.
- Coach and train the sales team, overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
- Communicate marketing insights to the field force and support product presentations and pricing.
- Ensure achievement of sales targets and market‑share objectives.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of sales and marketing experience with proven commercial management success.
- Background in eye‑care, medical devices, or FMCG.
- Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
- Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and business acumen.
- Native or strong Spanish, fluent English; Portuguese is a plus.
- Based in Barcelona or Lisbon, field‑based role with frequent travel.
- Available from August 2024.
